Mercy Compassionate Center economic empowerment programs are geared towards promoting inclusive and equitable economic growth among targeted beneficiaries and seek to ensure that the poor and vulnerable participate in and benefit from viable activities. Mercy Compassionate practices effective advocacy and dissemination of information to ensure that poor and susceptible groups benefit equitably by linking impoverished households with information and awareness in regard to access to markets, innovative technologies and financial services available.
In such strategies, we target youth and women who are often the most vulnerable segment of the society.
We established a Homestead kitchen garden project where each targeted beneficiary ensures they have a functional kitchen garden. This aim is to provide enough and fresh vegetables for home consumption and the surplus sold to get income.
We established a group where savings and loaning takes place among the members. This has proved to be successful as the members borrow money to start businesses.
